ELDERS' DEVELOPMENT First Ever Burmese Awareness Open Day on Old Age, Health & Poverty - 28th July 2008 Held in The Harmony Hall, Erskine Road, Walthamstow, E17 7BY Speakers on the Day:
Our member listened to our guest speakers during the day, which ran from 11am to 3.30pm, then Members also mingled during the lunch period with each other and our speakers. Some Photos of the Awareness Day..

There was also information available for the event from The British Heart Foundation and Information from the Fire Service (London) on Free test facilities and Fire Safety. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Awareness Day - 27th April 2009 An awareness and information day was held in Ealing for our users and commissioners in the borough of Ealing and Brent to come together and talk about their services and our Burmese community's needs. Held at Parish Centre, Christ the Saviour Church, Ealing, London, W5 Speakers on the Day: 1. Ealing PCT 2. Brent PCT 3. Diabetes UK (pictures to be added)
We have a dedicated Elders Development Worker in place to develop, expand and extend our range of services for Burmese Elders. We liaise with the local Health & Social Services Authorities and PCTs to enable our Burmese Community Elders to be better advised, aware and assisted in London. This project is assisting our Elders with benefits and entitlements and more details will be provided can be obtained by contacting our Elders Worker on 020 8900 9121. We are in the process of obtaining leaflets and advisory information in the Burmese Language, once these are available we shall be distributing these onto our Burmese Elders.
